In the municipality of Kavala, in the mountainous green hillsyou can find Kechrokambos (TAROVA) at an elevation of about 380 meters.

At a dinstance of about 55 klm. from Kavala, 35 klm. from Xanthi and 25 klm. from Chrisoupoli.

Kechrokambos is known for its abundant cold water, its good food, the traditional cheese "Moses" an the age-old sycamore trees (800 years-old) that are located in the center square where they give there cool shade and peace, also for the chestnut trees.

The majority of the residents of Kechrokambos are mainly refugees from Ponto, and they keep the "Pontiako" traditional elements such as: 

• a) The known artist born in Kechrokambos Niko Zournatzidi with his dancers and his study on the preservation of the traditional dances of Pontos, and to spread the knowledge to everybody by going on tours.

• b) The "Pontiako" weekend in June with live taditional music and dances

• c) The widely known fair we have on the 15th of August that our local church celebrates
